21 After three years of famine, David sought the Lord and war continued
22 David sang a song praising God after God delivered David from his enemies
Application
The thing that stands out to me most in this set of passages is the fact that you do in deed reap what you so. David acted in a horrible manner, he saw a married woman, lusted after her, caused her husband to be killed and then married her. Those were terrible actions. Then David’s son Absalom put him on the run and made him fear his life. How different David’s life would have been had he not acted so with another man’s wife. We must be careful in how we act so that when we reap we are happy with the harvest instead of lost and forlorn.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you, praise you and give you glory and honor. I thank you for being my Lord and Savior. Lord, please help me to be what I should be. Help me to act in a way brings honor to you and does not lead to me reaping bad things. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
