Serene Sunday - Happy Hour - A Slice of Carrot Cake

Serene Sunday - for me, serenity can be found in a slice of carrot cake.

Carrot Carrot CakeEach Sunday throughout the month of September I will be exploring ways to find serenity in one hour or less. I have found that many times the time spent in serenity is sometimes short. This means the trick is to find something that makes you happy and can be done, start to finish in one hour or less. For me, a wonderful, decadent way to spend an hour is with a piece of carrot cake. I am talking about a big, thick, wonderful slice of cake. There needs to be at least two layers of moist, delicious cake, with big juicy raisins. The cake is not complete without thick, rich, smooth cream cheese icing. You need a small fork that will take small pieces of cake that you can hold in your mouth as you moan in delight at the deliciousness rolling around in your mouth. It is often said you must find delight in the little things. For me, time spent with a big, delicious piece of carrot cake is a piece of peace well spent and a little bit of serenity.

So, the question for you this Serene Sunday is what do you do to find a bit of serenity?
